Crowded House was fantastic. The songs and the sound were great.
Overall the night was good at Spark Arena Auckland. I purchased Floor Level VIP seats Row G25 & G26 - birthday treat to myself! Great view of stage - though possibly would have enjoyed seating two or three seats further back. Plenty of seat room. Acoustics were good. Staff handled crowds efficiently and affectively. Extremely disappointed with VIP staff at “special entry” - Gate F, very snappy, no greeting or smile and were impatient and rude. Visited the bar for our “free” drink only pre-concert and they were VERY efficient, friendly and helpful, limited wait time. I assume they were still like this during the break before Crowded House came on. An unsmiling and gruff VIP staff member sent us in the WRONG direction to our seats so had a hassle finding the right place…actually another patron helped us when we looked confused. Once seated I noticed others having a similar issue in the VIP area, but observed a staff member on a different aisle had taken VIP patrons to their seats as they were also clearly confused. Overall it was a good night, no hassles with transport to and from the venue (we taxied - plenty on the rank), however the promised VIP service was not so slick…kind of wrecked the night.
Everything was so good, from Mel Parsons as the support act, not much waiting in between her and Crowded House, and a great mix of old favourites and newer releases. Queues for refreshments and toilets moved fast.
Crowded House never disappoints and this concert was no exception. Neil Finn is an exceptional talent and we were concerned that he may have just concentrated on his new album with songs we weren't as familiar with. We didn't need to worry as they had an excellent mix of old and new to keep us all entertained. We really enjoyed the way the band interacted and the "family"vibe with Liam and Elroy was fantastic. Their harmonies were outstanding. It would be any fathers dream to tour the world in a band with his children. They were world class! My only disappointment was the lack of bottom end on the PA, as a bass player I was expecting to hear my favourite bass parts but it was just missing. We were sitting in the middle of the venue on the ground floor so there should have been no reason for the lack of coverage. Apart from that, one of the best concerts we have attended.
Easy parking gor out of Aucklanders, Great seats great friends great music a fantastic night
I was so impressed with the concert they played fantastic the atmosphere was great It takes Kiwi group to really show how a concert can be done. Id go again just can’t say enough how much of a fantastic Event it was
My wife and I attended the show and were in awe of the energy Neil and his band’s performance. One member of our party was very impressed with the performance and knew quite a few of the songs. All round great entertainment!!!-)
Crowded House is a truly great band. Tight as, easy with each other, funny and supremely skilful. Not to mention the legendary songs and newer ones just as soulful and memorable. Neil and Liam’s on stage banter was a delight, too. Sadly, the concert was spoiled for us by loud talking and laughing throughout the entire show, by people around us - some of whom also got up and pushed past us to the exit in the middle of a song. Couldn’t you have waited another half hour for that second (or third) drink, mate?
What a night! Crowded House were as good as ever. It's been about 17 years since I last saw them live, I had huge expectations and they exceeded them and then some. Great mix of their new songs with so many classics and a crowd in tune, loved it!
An awesome night. Fabulous waiata and brilliant performers. Fun banter, old favs and some new gems. Mel Parsons was great. Loved the Pink Frost tribute to Martin Phillipps.
