ZZ TOP New Zealand 2025
ZZ TOP, “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” has been at it for well over a half century, delivering rock, blues and boogie on the road and in the studio to millions of devoted fans. With classic songs such as “Sharp Dressed Man”, “Legs” and “Gimme Me All Your Lovin” and iconography as distinctive as their sound, ZZ TOP is virtually synonymous with beards, hot-rod cars, spinning guitars and that magic keychain, all of which transcend geography and language.
As a touring entity, the bands current line-up of Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and Elwood Francis have performed before millions of fans on four continents.
They have sold hundreds of millions of records over the course of their career, have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (by Keith Richards, no less) and have been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms. They are true rock icons and, against all odds, they’re really just doing what they’ve always done.

Both George Thorogood and ZZ Top were everything that I was hoping, awesome, thank you.
Was a fantastic night the bands certainly knew how to entertain the crowd but even though it's a concert and people get up to dance some of us can't and just have to dance in our seats. So people get up in front of you and block your view. Security tried their best to get people to move to the side and dance to no avail. Also ran out of jack and cola before the event started. Apart from that awesome night.
Just a fantastic evening with Zz Tops and George Thorogood
Great concert. These "old"rockers really do still have it all going on! Great fun, great music, a truly memorable night.
Was terrible that the music out showed the singing voice. So very hard to sing a long to. Thought the warm up lady was the best
George Thorogood was fantastic ZZ Top the sound and vocals where poor not sure if wolfbrook arena is a good venue for such a loud rock band Quite a few left early as we did disapointed is the word I will use for ZZ top in christchurch
The band were great (though not as great as the full original line-up) but once again crowd control (and their own self-control) took the edge off the evening. Seems like 50% of the crowd were there to see the band but 50% were more interested in being seen themselves, deliberately or inadvertently. I pay to see bands, not peacocks dancing poorly and blocking my view of the band. Nor is it enjoyable to have my enjoyment impacted by the constant interruption of those drinking with their alternating and repeated toilet then bar trips. If you can't hold your bladder, don't drink as much. Venues Otautahi needs to improve. If people want to dance, give them an area to dance in, an area that doesn't impact on those that want to, or have to, sit. If you can't do that then stop people standing and dancing in the aisles. If people want to constantly distract themselves with the bar and the toilets then give them an area too - or just give them headphones and stop them from coming in at all. Every time a band lists a concert the decision about whether to go or not is less about how much I want to see the band and more about whether my $100's of dollars will be impacted by those who want it to be all about them or just want an excuse to get drunk.
Great concert, Billy still has it. Too bad he was the only original band member, but the 2 other musicians were excellent. George Thoroughgood really got the place going. No sign of Dallas Fraccas though who were supposed to be the first band on stage
ZZ top rock ! Loud and thats the way I wanted it, they played all the hits so I was tapping and moving in my undersize seat until the last song. Found the whole experience fantastic, from the first act to the last act. Such a great night and it rolled back the years to remind me of my youth. Heres to the over 60s who stayed awake past 10pm for the first time in ages !
Entertainment from beginning to end & great value for money with 3 acts! Not just 'musicians' but truly professional entertainers of their genre!
