About

More than 11,000 participants from over 40 countries will arrive in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland to drench the city in song.

The participating choirs will bring a huge variety of musical and cultural styles from every region of the world, providing audiences with a two-week feast for both the eyes and the ears!  

Attend epic scale spectacular opening and closing ceremonies at Spark arena, grab a competition day pass and travel the musical world without ever leaving the CBD. Enrich your musical knowledge at workshops, experience showcases of the best participating groups at evening concerts.  Don't miss out on this epic celebration of music and culture. 

Organised by INTERKULTUR, the World Choir Games 2024 is hosted by the New Zealand Choral Federation, delivered by Chor 2024 Limited and supported by New Zealand Major Events and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, Auckland’s cultural and economic agency.

Competitions, concerts and workshops will take place in a range of central-city venues, Aotea Centre, Town Hall, St Matthew-in-the-City, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Q Theatre and Dorothy Winstone Theatre. The opening, closing and awards ceremonies are held at Spark Arena.  

We want to ensure that audiences with accessibility needs can partake in the Games. Please contact us directly at info@wcg2024.co.nz if you have specific accessibility needs that you would like assistance with.  

There are lots of mobility parking at The Civic parking space, which offers 2 hours free to pass holders, free past 6pm, and free all day on weekends. For the competition sessions, you will be admitted at the end of each choir’s performance.  

For the concerts, you will be admitted at a suitable break in the performance. 

There is no dress code for the Games. You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. 

Yes. Tickets are available at each venue at least one hour before the event. Please note box offices close half an hour after Concerts, Ceremonies, and Workshops begin. 

Yes. All children require a ticket. We have special Child prices (13 years and under) on all events except Workshops.

    Having installed the Ticketmaster App it was very simple to purchase tickets and to keep the tickets safe on my mobile until they were required for scanning for admission at the venue.
