Since 2002 over 16 million theatregoers in 28 countries have been thrilled by this awe-inspiring production which is based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton (The Young Ones, Blackadder, Popcorn).

Now at last its Wellington’s turn!

Elton fashioned this hilarious futurist comedy around more than 24 of Queen’s biggest hit songs including We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, Somebody To Love, Killer Queen, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust and of course, We Will Rock You. 

The musical takes place in a future age on a planet once called Earth that is now controlled by a mighty corporation...rock music is unheard and all musical instruments are banned. The hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance-an alliance of rebel Bohemians. 

The show is live, dangerous and more than anything else: it rocks!

Brought to you by the producers of the recent Wellington seasons of WICKED and Les MisĂŠrables, this is sure to be the hit of the year!

    Fantastic interactive night

    We Will Rock You was excellent. The vocals were amazing with such powerful leads. The costuming and lighting really linked in the story. There were moments of humour, which the actors really developed. Brilliant how the lyrics of our favourite Queen songs come to life and beautiful intertwined with the storyline. The band were brilliant. I love how the end of the show didn't disappoint and we all rocked it with the cast. Worth every cent and I would go and see again without hesitation.

    A-MAZ-ING!

    I cannot rave enough about this show! The 4 leads (Galileo, Scaramouche, Oz & Brit) are so ridiculously talented. The ensemble cast were one of the most cohesive & harmonic I've ever seen in a musical, it was an absolute joy to be part of. And you are part of it, the incredible sound track, the hilarious use of song titles to create innuendo & the handy wooden floor at the St James to add gravitas (& noise!) to the title song. I travelled from Hamilton to see the show & it was 💯 worth it. We Will Rock You has moved straight to the top of my best musical ever list.

    Well, this was unexpected as hubster & I hadn’t read up on the show, just booked & went with it! What an explosion of musical entertainment … we were blown away, the lead characters, the chorus & the band — lead guitarist was the icing on the cake, what an incredibly talent musician — what a combination … & then the band played us out just magical … if it hadn’t ended today I’d have booked another visit!

    Music, singing, acting, cheeky jokes all amazing and a great story line with a bit of a love story. Something for everyone. The voices were all absolutely Devine but the on call song BR by the whole cast brought tears to my eyes

    A visit to the VIP Lounge was a new and unexpected experience great chat with the shows main organizers and others Loved the show the enthusiasm the energy the amazing talent of the cast also the story A must do again in Wellington at the amazing refurbished St James Theatre

    Having seen this show in the West End and finding it rather confusing, I was really surprised how much I loved the Wellington production. It was slick with a great cast and overall an amazing evening of entertainment. Loved it!
