Exhibition FAQs

When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets are on sale to the general public from Wed 7 May, 10am.

How long does it take to see the exhibit?
The average time is between 60 and 90 minutes.

What are the opening hours of The Art of Bansky?
The exhibition is open daily, Monday - Wednesday, 10am - 6pm (last admission 5pm) and Thursday - Sunday, 10am - 9pm (last admission 8pm).

Is the exhibition suitable for children?
We encourage the attendance of children by making entry free for youngsters under 12 years of age, accompanied by at least one adult.
Under 5's must be restrained/monitored so as not to disturb the exhibition (either with their parent at all times or in a pram)

Are all the works genuine?
Yes, the artworks on display at The Art of Banksy were certified and authenticated by Pest Control. The works were sold by Banksy to private collectors and would normally never get to be seen by the public.

Is any of the work taken from the street?
We would never remove Banksy's public works - it was meant for the public and belongs to the public. We believe public art should remain physically accessible to the public out in the wild.

Can I take photos in the exhibition area?
Yes, personal photography is encouraged, though you won't be able to use your flash. Professional photography and flash photography is not permitted. You can share your photos with us on social media by tagging us @aucklandlive.

Is there seating inside the exhibition?
Yes, there is some limited seating available inside the exhibition.

Do you accept cash?
This is a cashless venue and event.

Can I bring food/drink?
No, there is no food or drink permitted in the exhibition area. There is food and beverages available at The Terrace café in the front of the Aotea Centre go to aucklandlive.co.nz for more information.

Where can I park?
Parking will be available at the Civic Car Park. Public transport is also available, you can find more information on public transport times and routes at
AT.govt.nz.

Can I bring bags or luggage?
Yes, you can bring in small bags (no larger than A3 size). All larger items will require to be coat checked at the entrance to Hunua Rooms, Aotea Centre.

Are there toilets/bathroom facilities in the exhibition?
Toilets are available outside the exhibition and can be found on Level 2 of the Aotea Centre.

Can I bring my pram?
Yes. It may be taken inside - or left in the coat check at the entry of the exhibition

Is the exhibition accessible?
The exhibition is fully wheelchair accessible. We are an immersive experience, so the exhibition has low lighting. Aotea Centre also has one wheelchair available for guests to use inside the exhibition, this needs to be pushed by someone other than the user.

Can I bring an assistance dog to the venue?
Certified assistance dogs are allowed in the venue when assisting a person with a disability. Please ensure the dog wears the appropriate coat and has a valid ID card.

Can I buy tickets onsite?
Yes, there is a box office on-site, but advance bookings are highly recommended. There is no service fee payable for box office ticket purchases, but credit card charges will apply.
