The Great Taranaki Steam Band Tickets

A 35-strong community ensemble, The Great Taranaki Steam Band, will get The Famous Spiegeltent swinging.

Of the “concert band” genre, this group of musicians will play jazz standards from the 1920s to the 1980s, including instrumental arrangements of In The Mood, Mack The Knife and Chattanooga Choo Choo.

In this toe-tapping extravaganza, the Steam Band will be under the baton of Music Innovation Trust of Taranaki director Christopher Luke. Set up 15 years ago to create opportunities for anyone who wanted to learn and play an instrument, the band is known for having a variety of sounds and a mix of musicians.

This line-up includes players from many walks of life – lawyers, school teachers, farmers, journalists and retirees – all with a passion for playing.
