AN EVENING WITH STEPHEN FRY
Step into an unforgettable evening in the company of multi-award-winning comedian, actor and master storyteller Stephen Fry. Stephen has been entertaining international audiences for decades with his roles in Blackadder, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Jeeves and Wooster and in films such as Wilde and Gosford Park. Stephen also hosted QI for twelve years and since 2017, his mythological retellings – including Mythos, Heroes and Troy – have become an international phenomenon.
Now, hear firsthand the ups and downs of Stephen’s personal voyage through life and showbusiness, the trials and tribulations of his writing and storytelling process and his reflections on time spent working with some of the world’s funniest and most interesting talents. Douglas Adams told him the real significance of the number 42 in The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy – will he share the meaning of Life, The Universe and Everything with you?
With an opportunity to ask your own questions, this promises to be a fantastically entertaining evening sharing stories and remembered adventures with one our most stimulating and erudite raconteurs.

Stephen Fry is an excellent raconteur, and I enjoyed all his stories. I travelled from Christchurch toWellington just to attend this event, and I'm glad I did.
A great experience, but would have been good to know in advance that the show would finish around 11pm as opposed to 10pm which is what the information about the event said. We had a babysitter and the show was on a Wednesday night. The show finished at 11.15pm so quite a bit later than we and our babysitter were expecting.
Stephen Fry is an extraordinary individual. We really enjoyed his life story and the stories/anecdotes that he told. It really was a great evening.
Great show, would recommend but it was about half to 1 hour too long.
The first hour was deliciously delivered but then we were read to for half an hour from his book. Boring. Responding to audience questions ended with a half hour dissertation on mental health and how to deal with it. Not comedic. Noticed few of the audience was smiling, much less giggling, as we filed out. Not what you would have expected after an evening with a master of comedy.
We had a wonderful night hearing about Stephen's experiences growing up, why he loves New Zealand, followed by answering audience questions. It was awesome hearing his open and personal feelings around his mental health issues, and what he's witnessing the world over. Ka pai, Stephen Fry.
