About Ruen Brothers
RUEN BROTHERS IN CONCERT:
The Ruen Brothers are shaking up the UK rock scene with their brooding mix of garage, rockabilly, and ‘60s beat music. The siblings behind the duo are Rupert and Henry Stansall (Ruen is an amalgam of Rupert and Henry), two prodigiously gifted young musicians who inject their virile, compact songs with loads of snarling attitude and punk posturing. Their live shows are as gripping as their visceral sound, treating fans to adrenaline-filled performances of songslike “Ace” and “Blood Runs Wild” that recall hard-charging ‘60s rock outfits like The Sonics. Fans of early garage, rockabilly rhythms, and fiery vocals are best advised to catch the Ruen Brothers on tour now before their potent tunes have them selling out arenas.
Rupert and Henry Stansall hail from the industrial steel town of Scunthorpe in North Linconshire, England. They began writing and performing as the Ruen Brothers in the early ‘00s, culling a unique rockabilly sound from a variety of influences including Roy Orbison, Frankie Valli, and the Everly Brothers. They made their recording debut in early 2013 with the song “Aces”, a chugging slice of no-frills garage rock that landed them on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury and earned them a spot on The Guardian’s coveted New Band of the Day series. In November 2013 the band released their debut EP Blood Runs Wild, a stellar 4-track punch to the guts that solidified their status as overnight critical darlings. Since then the band has continued to deliver electrifying performances on tour, drumming up excitement among ticket buyers for their highly anticipated debut album.
