About
Joji – born George Kusonoki Miller – began as YouTube sketch comedy content creator and
has since become one of the industry’s most enthralling and enigmatic artists. In 2017,
leaving his comedy roots to pursue music full time under the stage name Joji, he began
releasing music under label 88rising, revealing a lo-fi, serious yet soothing sound, instantly
beloved by fans.
Debut album Ballads 1 (2018) hit No.1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart on
release, well and truly separating Joji from his characters of the past. With the album largely
written and produced by Joji himself, second single ‘SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK’
reached 5x Platinum status in the US, Gold in the UK and Platinum in Australia.

“From commandeering the wave of lo-fi tinted trap and hip hop in the late 2010s to
cementing himself as an alt pop heavy hitter, Joji consistently reinvents himself and truly
proves himself as one of the most interesting artists in the alternative, ‘anti’ pop sphere.” –
