Listening to the beautiful sounds and voices…watching Regan Balzer spontaneously create her beautiful paintings was skin shivering stuff! It was like 100 paintings within the one…starting with abstract imagery, DNA-like strands that danced and illuminated across the surface, painted with her hands and fingers, then tīpuna, whenua, atua, korowai and whare…to name a few, in all forms danced out of her brush to the wonderful sounds of Horomona Horo’s evolving melodies of taonga pūoro, Dr Jeremy Mayall on piano and Michael Moore’s eloquent kōrero.
