About

Herbie Hancock 2024

Living legend Herbie Hancock is set to light up stages in New Zealand in October, in his first visit since 2019, promising an electrifying evening from one of music’s most revered names.

With a career spanning seven decades and a staggering 14 GRAMMY awards, few artists have had more influence on modern music than Herbie Hancock. The creative force behind timeless classics like Cantaloupe Island, Chameleon, and Rockit, Hancock's genre-transcending appeal and unmistakable style have cemented his status as "today’s greatest living artist," as extolled by The Washington Post. As the immortal Miles Davis said in his autobiography, “Herbie was the step after Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk, and I haven’t heard anybody yet who has come after him.”  He has transcended limitations and genres while maintaining his unmistakable voice, amazing audiences across the globe.

Thank you Herbie and band for coming to New Zealand. You have made my son very happy! You have inspired and played music he loves and has taken away new ambitions in his career of music. We hope next time to see you in Otautahi! Merch was awesome too! Keep sharing and we are thrilled to be part of your family!

    Can never get enough

by Muso 183 on 09/10/2024Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre - Auckland

My first visit to the Aotea Centre KTK Theatre. All good there. Good service, comfy seats, good sound. Felt intimate connection with the musicians on stage. Always a good thing at biggish venues. HH was of course fantastic. But inevitably 2 hrs was never going to be long enough. His catalogue and musical genres are just too big to cover in that amount of time. I'll just have to crank up the ol' Technics tt at home.
