In 2025, the Christchurch School of Music (CSM) proudly marks 70 years of inspiring and educating musicians of all ages. Since its founding in 1955, CSM has been a cornerstone of music education in Canterbury, offering high-quality teaching, ensemble opportunities, and vibrant musical community. Thousands of students have passed through its door, many going on to perform in renowned orchestras and bands worldwide.

To celebrate this incredible milestone, CSM is hosting a special series of concerts showcasing the breadth and diversity of its musical programs. Alumni from around the world are returning to perform alongside current students, bringing together generations of musicians in a celebration of music and community. Each concert will highlight different aspects of CSM’s rich offerings, from classical orchestras and choirs to jazz, rock and contemporary ensembles.
