BROOKE FRASER AND THE AUCKLAND PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA

Brooke Fraser, one of New Zealand's most celebrated artists, is set to perform a one-night-only concert with the Auckland Philharmonia orchestra at Spark Arena on June 22.

This event promises to be an unforgettable night of music, featuring the hits from Brooke's solo albums set in new arrangements commissioned specially for the seventy piece orchestra performing with her.

Expressing her excitement, Brooke says, “I feel utterly honoured to have the opportunity not only to play some of these treasured songs again, but also to bring them to expression in a brand new way through this collaboration with the Auckland Philharmonia. There isn’t another experience that compares to playing these songs on the soil and amongst the people in whom my music first found its home and springboard two decades ago. I am so grateful to have spent my life making music, and hope that this night is a special and moving experience for anyone and everyone who has been part of giving me this gift by supporting my music for so long."

Brooke Fraser's acclaimed career is highlighted by her 2003 debut album "What To Do With Daylight," which reached eight times platinum in New Zealand, and the worldwide hit “Something in the Water” from her third album “Flags”.

She's achieved five number one hits on the Radioscope 100 airplay chart and won the 2007 APRA Silver Scroll for "Albertine." Brooke is also a multiple recipient of APRA’s Most Performed Work awards in New Zealand and overseas.

With nine Aotearoa Music Awards, including International Achievement, and multiple international platinum awards for "Something in the Water," Brooke's commercial success is evident over a career spanning six Brooke Fraser albums. Under her married name, Brooke Ligertwood, she is a multi-Grammy winner with over 7 billion streams worldwide.

Joining Brooke at Spark Arena will be the full Auckland Philharmonia orchestra with conductor Hamish McKeich.

The Auckland Philharmonia is an internationally renowned orchestra based in Tāmaki Makarau. Hamish McKeich has forged an impressive international conducting career alongside a passionate loyalty for developing the repertoire of contemporary and experimental music. He is the Principal Conductor of the NZSO and Royal NZ Ballet and has performed all over the world.

This one-night-only concert promises to be a remarkable experience, showcasing one of New Zealand's most prolific artists in her element.

    What a great evening !

    by Mayette on 24/06/2024

Me and my husband had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the concert. Though the queue to come in was long, it was worth it. Once we were inside, everything was okay. It was indeed a wonderful evening !

    Great show once it started.

    by Mike on 24/06/2024

Why would you have a time of 6:30 on the tickets when everyone would assume that was the start time of the show. Not the time doors open. Got to Spark arena at 5:30 in good time to find Brooke Fraser was not on until 8:30. Tickets I have purchased in the past have always had the time the show starts on the tickets. Not doors open time.

    Brilliant Brooke dazzles her fans.

    by Grant,Mandy on 23/06/2024

Brooke Frazer is an NZ icon- right up there with Sir Dave Dobyn. She and the Auckland Philharmonia managed a delicate yet powerful blend of her iconic songs. She is bold in her genre and her easy and quirky rapport with the fans and authentic humility made for a unique evening. She wore her heart on her sleeve as she reminisced about her music journey. An absolute treat when she paid tribute to Anika Moa and Bic Runga.

Very impressed with the finer details and efficiency.

by Kylie & Matty on 23/06/2024

This week we had 3 events all using Ticketmaster as the ticketing agent. I couldn't be more IMPRESSED by the efficiency of this process from start to finish. I especially appreciated the tickets details such as indication of door number and how easy it was to, at a glance, see all the event info we needed before and during. Very impressed!

Fabulous performance Pity about the pre communication

    by Nicky on 23/06/2024

Brooke is a wonderful entertainer because she is so natural and her voice is extraordinary. The orchestral arrangements and performance was superb. The co artists were lovely and added interest. Well done to Brooke. Not well done to the infrastructural communication, nothing about the back up artist, nothing about intermission, hard to find out anything about the concert structure beforehand.

    Brooke contiues to be wonderful

    by Vivienne on 23/06/2024

This is my fourth Brooke Fraser concert, and once again, she was amazing. She has one of the purest voices I have ever heard. Add to that her humility, and her gorgeous quirkiness that has always delighted me. I love that she had other artists join her on stage - really beautiful. This time she was backed by the Auckland Philharmonia, which had some wonderful moments, but personally, I would have liked to have seen more of her songs sung the 'normal' way - at times the orchestra overwhelmed her singing. Either way, Brooke remains one of my favourite singers. I loved the personal sharing - like about the songs she has written for her husband and daughters, telling us that she is bad with song names, and acknowledging how much she has been inspired by other female singers in NZ.

    Frustrating

by Could be organised better on 23/06/2024

There was not enough detail around he timing of the program until the day of the event. Even then it was not clear when the intermission would be held and thus when the introductory singer had finished no one knew how long it would be before the main item would commence. Difficult therefore to judge if time to get food/drink etc Handing in of umbrellas very frustrating. Poorly organised with long delays for retrieval

    Downloading tickets

    by ASV on 23/06/2024

Got a email day before event advising that new app required for downloading tickets. There still has to be a paper option for tickets. The actual event was amazing and entry smooth given the amount of people attending.

    Useless

by Standing in the rain on 22/06/2024

We were all advised this concert had been moved to 6:30 p. We are left standing in the rain no doors open utterly useless and shabby treatment of the audience.
