About

The Tuning Fork at Vector Arena presents Ed Kowalczyk in an intimate and acoustic performance performing all the hits: "Lightning Crashes", "I Alone", "All Over You” and more.

Ed Kowalczyk, the legendary lead singer and songwriter of the multi-platinum rock band, Live, left the band in 2009 to pursue a solo career and open a new chapter in his already illustrious career. With over 20 million albums sold worldwide and nine Top 10 hit songs, which includes the crossover smash "Grace" from his debut solo albums, and classics such as "Lightning Crashes", "I Alone", "Selling  the Drama", "The Dolphin’s Cry" and "Heaven", Kowalczyk now introduces his newest creative offering, the intimate acoustic production, "I Alone Acoustic".

Emerging from York, PA, in the early ‘90s in celebrated multiplatinum band Live, Ed Kowalczyk helped define alternative rock into what it is today. With breakthrough albums Mental Jewelry and Throwing Copper that sprouted such staples of modern rock radio as “I Alone”, “Selling the Drama” and “Lightning Crashes”, he continued on with an equally important solo career with his debut Alive, which reaffirmed his rightful place in the indie rock landscape.

In October 2013, he will release his second solo album, The  Flood and the Mercy, which he describes as "intense and cathartic, with elements of surprise and songs that speak to new beginnings.”  He adds: "I feel like I’ve gone to a different place with this one. I really feel like I’ve hit a different stride, and I definitely think it’s the start of a new era for me."
The feeling of creative liberation that suffuses the new album has extended to Kowalczyk’s recent live shows, where he’s been performing in a stripped-down acoustic format that emphasizes the emotional immediacy of his new songs and old favorites. “This tour is my new passion for sure," he says. "I love blowing people’s minds with the intensity of the emotion and the intimacy the show inspires."

"I’m having a blast. There’s nothing to hide behind, and I’m impressed at how well the big rock songs on the new album come off when we play them acoustically. People  tell me that they come to the show expecting to hear pretty versions of the songs and that they’re surprised at the intensity. I feel that way too. The music has always worn its heart on its sleeve, but now it’s a bit more in your face, because the soul is so bare in an acoustic environment. "I feel as passionate and as drive as I’ve ever felt, but  I no longer feel the need to shout so loud."
