About

Iconic Grammy-winning rock band YES performs one New Zealand show only in Auckland this November – performing two of their classic albums in their entirety.

Featuring bassist (and founding band member) Chris Squire, together with guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, keyboardist Geoff Downes and singer Jon Davison, YES will play the 1971 ground-breaking album FRAGILE and the 1972 album CLOSE TO THE EDGE from start to finish, followed by an encore of the band’s greatest hits, including 1983 single ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’.

With rave reviews and sell-out shows in the US, YES are thrilled to bring this very special show to New Zealand for the first time.

Having sold more than 50 million records over its 46-year career, YES continues creating masterful music that inspires fans and musicians from around the world and fans will hear the band perform material from their new album HEAVEN AND EARTH, set for release in July 2014.

The album FRAGILE is considered to be the band’s US break-through album peaking at number 4 on the Billboard Album chart. The RIAA-certified double platinum album has sold over two million copies and features YES’ hit single ‘Roundabout’ and other classics like ‘Long Distance Runaround’ and ‘Heart of the Sunrise.’

The band’s album CLOSE TO THE EDGE is widely regarded as one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever recorded and was on the US charts for 32 weeks, peaking at number 3.

“Yes’ colors are subtle, almost imperceptible tints, but the main strokes are bold and thick, applied with sureness and natural instinct.” – Rolling Stone

The Gold-certified album featuring epic suites such as ‘Close To The Edge’ and ‘You And I’ was named one of the 100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time by Guitar World (2006).
